Facial Reflexology

Facial Reflexology uses a unique combination of alternative therapies: Traditional Chinese Meridian and Points, South American Mapuche Facial Reflex Zones, Vietnamese face mapping and the modern science of neuro-anatomy.

Lone Sorensen Lopez, developed Facial Reflexology over 30 years of intensive research in Denmark and South America with over 12,000 clients. Lone was awarded three Nobility prizes by the World Health Organisation in 2001 for her pioneering work in Zone therapy, foot, hand and facial reflexology. She opened the first three-reflexology schools in Argentina and (now) has schools all over the world, helping thousands of patients.

How Does Facial Reflexology work?

This unique treatment is profoundly relaxing as it promotes the release of endorphins and serotonin, which calms the mind and aims to balance the Central Nervous System. It’s not only a health therapy but it has a great beauty benefit too, as I will be working directly on the face, stimulation has the potential to improve skin tone and collagen production, lighten dark circles around the eyes, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and lift sagging skin!

Like the feet, the face is also a micro map of the body. By stimulating the reflex points and areas, impulses are sent through the nervous system to the organs. Thus, the hormonal system, the blood circulation, lymphatic system and arterial pressure can be regulated, the muscular system relaxed and stress levels reduced.

By exploring the tissue on the face it is possible to feel some swellings under the dermis, these may feel like tiny grains of sand to swollen lumps. These deposits may relate to an imbalance in an organ or a system of the body. Our face contains numerous nerves and blood vessels and is so close to the brain that by stimulating the reflexes on the face the messages have a shorter distance to travel.

What are the benefits of Facial Reflexology?

So much tension can build up in the muscles of your face – tensions that can pervade the entire body. You use your face thousands of times a day to talk, laugh, eat, frown, express and suppress emotion. These all result in a build-up of muscle tension, causing lines and wrinkles. With the deep soothing strokes of facial reflexology many years of tension will be released, leaving you feeling great with an added bonus of a glowing complexion!
